VoIP operators
- Functional SIP infrastructure for processing outgoing and incoming calls routed through the Internet.
- Exchange supporting ENUM.
Equipment for operating the SIP infrastructure and exchanges supporting ENUM is now delivered by a wide range of manufacturers from the largest enterprises such as Cisco, Siemens etc. to smaller companies and to the open-source exchange named Asterisk. Companies
- Branch exchange supporting SIP and ENUM.
- IP phones, (desk, IP mobile phones or software phones) for subscribers.
- Public phone numbers for these IP phones sufficiently fast Internet connection.
The simplest solution of a company branch exchange supporting SIP and ENUM is the open-source exchange Asterisk. For other solutions, see the SIP products database, containing also individual types of SIP phones, both desktop and software phones.
You can receive public phone numbers from your telecommunication operator. Alternatively, you can contact one of the operators from the list of operators supporting ENUM.
As far as the Internet connection speed is concerned, the optimal solution is to have some capacity reserved for transferring phone calls. This capacity depends mainly on the expected total number of incoming and outgoing calls that can be connected at a single moment.
Individuals
- IP phone (desk, IP mobile phone or software phone - in a computer) with a public phone number.
- Telecommunication operator supporting ENUM.
- Sufficiently fast Internet connection.
All requirements – the phone, the number (and mostly also the Internet connection, which is not a condition, however) can most easily be obtained from one of the telecommunication operators supporting ENUM, included in the following list.
